Chapter Film Screening and Annual Meeting Description:
The Southwestern Wildlands Chapter will screen Rancher, Farmer, Fisherman and hold its annual meeting on Friday, March 23, 2018, at the Butte Archives (17 West Quartz Street). Doors will open for the film at 6:30 p.m. with the screening starting at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. The Southwestern Wildlands Chapter is a regional affiliate of the Montana Wilderness Association. More information about the chapter can be found here or in its inaugural newsletter.

Before the film, the Wildlands Chapter will hold its annual meeting, which will include electing its board members for the upcoming year. The Chapter will also provide a brief recap of its activities and its upcoming plans. A staffer from the Montana Wilderness Association will also be on hand to give an update on the efforts by the statewide organization. The annual meeting will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend, but only chapter members can vote.

The Discovery Channel’s Rancher, Farmer, Fisherman tells the inspiring story of heartland heroes who are feeding the world while acting as stewards of our precious land and water. The film is a tribute to people like fourth-generation Montana rancher Dusty Crary and friends. Their commitment to conservation drove them to forge alliances between long-time antagonists, including cattlemen, federal agencies, hunters, and environmental groups, to protect private ranches and wilderness along the Rocky Mountain Front for future generations. By taking action, these courageous individuals have made enduring contributions that help preserve the landscapes that define the American character. Directed by Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Susan Froemke and Emmy winner John Hoffman, it’s narrated by award-winning journalist Tom Brokaw.
