The Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives will continue its Brown Bag Lunch series on Wednesday, August 22, with a presentation by John Kountz about “The Unknown Stories of The Other Parrott." The talk will be an historic adventure of a pioneer Montana orphan boy and his six generation Montana legacy. The story of the Parrott will be in this adventure.

John Kountz was born and raised in Whitehall. He attended Montana State and Montana Western before returning to the family ranch in 1971. His interest in history began with the stories told by his grandfather. His family continues to ranch south of Whitehall.

The presentation will begin at noon and run about an hour at the Archives, 17 W. Quartz. Guests are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Coffee and water will be provided.

Brown Bag Lunches are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. Upcoming lectures will focus on topics of local interest. For more information, contact the Archives at 782-3280.
