**This is a digital event**

Auditions for A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare

Director:Elizabeth Crase
Choreographer: Taryn Quayle
Stage Manager: TBD (email jackievetter@orphangirl.org if interested)

A Midsummer Night's Dream is a comedy set in Athens and consists of several subplots that revolve around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta. One subplot involves a conflict between four Athenian lovers. Another follows a group of six amateur actors rehearsing the play which they are to perform before the wedding. Both groups find themselves in a forest inhabited by fairies who manipulate the humans and are engaged in their own domestic intrigue. The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular and widely performed plays!

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be performed April 23rd - 25th and April 30th - May 2nd. The location and distribution of this production is TBD based on the state of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Auditions are Tuesday February 2nd and Wednesday February 3rd from 3 - 6 pm MST via zoom.

Callbacks, if needed, will be the afternoon of February 4th (or possibly in the room of the audition). If none of these times work, see the instructions below for how to submit a video audition (due by Wednesday February 3rd at 5 pm MST ). To sign up for a zoom audition click here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409044ca4ac2aa6fc1-twas

Auditions are for ages 7 and up, adults welcome (though casting not guaranteed for adults). Orphan Girl Children’s Theatre is looking to cast a wide range of abilities and ethnicities. BIPOC are encouraged to audition.

Audition requirements: You must prepare one of the monologues at www.orphangirl.org. The monologue should be memorized and you should do the work to know what the monologue says.

For character breakdown and audition material, please visit www.orphangirl.org under the Get Involved, “Audition Info” link.

Video Submission Requirements: Please follow the instructions listed. Record your video HORIZONTALLY, filming from your chest up. Make sure you are well lit and performing in front of as neutral a background as you can. When you start the video, please say your name and what monologue you are performing. To send, upload your audition to Youtube or Vimeo and send it as a private link to elizabethcrase@orphangirl.org by (due by Wednesday February 3rd at 5 pm MST). Please note: a zoom audition is preferable to a video audition - since the director is able to coach and work with you, however we understand if this is your only option!

Due to COVID 19, all auditions will be digital via the platform Zoom. To access this platform, you will need a tablet, laptop, computer or smartphone with a camera. More information, including links and how to fill out an audition form will be provided once you sign up for an audition slot. Additionally, based on the state of the pandemic and local health department restrictions, the presentation of this production (digital, streamed or in person) is TBD, so please be aware of that going into this audition.

Please email elizabethcrase@orphangirl.org or call 406-782-5657 for questions!
