12:00 PM
Butte Archives
Description:
The Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives will continue its Brown Bag Lunch series on Wednesday, February 12, with a presentation by Abby Peltomaa about Superfund in Butte. She will share before and after pictures of the area documenting the clean-up processes of restoration and remediation. This talk will be an introduction to a viewing of the movie “Worth the Wait” on February 26.

Peltoma was born and raised in Butte and has loved getting to know her community’s history better. She graduated from Butte High School, earned a B.S. from Montana Tech and a M.S. from the University of Montana. Peltomaa works as the Superfund Data Specialist for Butte-Silver Bow and an adjunct faculty for the biology department at Montana Tech. She also has the privilege of being on the Board of Directors for the Butte Archives.

Guests are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Coffee and water will be provided by the Archives. Brown Bag Lunches are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. Upcoming lectures will focus topics of local interest. For more information, contact the Archives at 782-3280.
