Brown Bag Lunch with Suzanne Stefanac
12:00 PM
Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives
Did you ever wonder what Butte was REALLY like exactly a century ago? For nearly two years, Suzanne Stefanac has been combing through old newspapers at the Butte Archives for her "100 Years Ago in Butte" series (KBMF 102.5, Mondays at 5pm). Stafanac is the this week’s speaker at the Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives Brown Bag Lunch at noon on Wednesday, March 14.

For the Brown Bag presentation, Suzanne will share the most telling and amusing stories, complementing them with a wide array of accompanying photos and illustrations of the day. The topics are as varied as Butte itself—politics, mining, unions, social clubs, theater, eateries, fashions, health, obituaries, WWI, prohibition and the always entertaining police blotter. Suzanne is a Butte native who returned five years ago. She is president of the Butte America Foundation and a KBMF DJ, playing music from around the world on her weekly radio.free.zorca shows (Saturdays at 4-6pm). She is happy to be home.

The presentation will begin at noon and run about an hour at the Archives, 17 W. Quartz. Guests are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Coffee and water will be provided.

Brown Bag Lunches are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. Upcoming lectures will focus on topics of local interest. For more information, contact the Archives at 782-3280.
