Choral Union Holiday Concert
3:00 PM
Montana Tech Library Auditorium
“Carols … and the Rest of the Story” is the theme of Montana Tech Choral Union’s holiday concert. The first half of the concert will consist of traditional carols in new arrangements. Montana Tech Professor Dr. John Garic, a Choral Union bass, will serve as narrator to present the history of these classics of the holiday season.
The Montana Tech choral students will present the second half of the program. The Techtonics, a new singing ensemble at Tech, will perform original pieces written and arranged by group members. The 24-member Copper Hill student choir will then perform music that encourages us all to become active in causes that we find important to society and ourselves. Their program ranges from an excerpt from the musical Les Misérables to an Emmy Award winning song from the movie Selma, as well as Prayer of the Children, What a Wonderful World and other selections.
The concert takes place on Sunday, December 9th at 3:00 pm in the Montana Tech Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for general admission, and $5 for seniors and students. A reception will follow the performance, and the Choral Union will raffle gift baskets and gift certificates donated by Butte businesses and individuals.
