Come be a part of history this Saint Patrick’s Day as traditional Irish sport returns to Butte, Montana for the first time in over a century. The Irish hurling team from the University of Montana, three-time national collegiate champions, will take on Missoula’s Thomas Meagher Hurling Club in an epic battle of Gaelic courage and pride.

Immediately following Butte’s Saint Patrick’s Day parade, take a short walk to MT Tech's Alumni Coliseum, where you’ll see Ireland’s national sport and obsession--often called ‘the fastest game on grass’--played by some of the finest Irish and American players around.

This family-friendly, alcohol and tobacco free event should prove a perfect addition to your day of celebrating Irish heritage, sure to entertain both the fan of sport and culture alike. Spectators will be invited onto the field to meet the players, discuss the game, and try their hand at wielding the 'hurley', the wooden club used in the game.
