Geology and History along the Silver Bow Creek Greenway Description:
The Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives will continue its Brown Bag Lunch series on Wednesday, May 24, with a presentation by Dick Gibson on “The Geology and History along the Silver Bow Creek Greenway Trail.” The talk will focus on the trail from Whiskey Gulch Station to Crackerville Road, taken from a guidebook in progress for the entire trail system from the Granite Mountain Memorial to the Anaconda-Highway 1 Rest Area.

Dick Gibson, geologist and historian and author of “Lost Butte, Montana” and the "History of the Earth Perpetual Calendar," will give the presentation. His current focus on Butte history is the eighth year of a weekly column in the Montana Standard newspaper.

The Brown Bag Lunch will begin at noon and run about an hour at the Archives, 17 W. Quartz Street. Coffee and water will be served and guests may bring a sack lunch. For more information, please call the Archives at 406-782-3280.
